Let Your Sex Parts Be A Geiger Counter
In the 1950s and 1960s television and the movies were filled with stories
that involved Geiger Counters - those devices that detect the presence of
radiation and make clicky-rattley noises that tell how much radiation was near.
Sometimes they were used to find valuable deposits or uranium or stolen A-Bombs.
Other times they were used to gauge danger from radiation so that people could
be kept safe. When the Geiger Counter clicked and rattled loudly enough, it was
time to turn back. The detector helps you move toward or away from radiation.
Your sex parts are like a Geiger Counter. A Geiger Counter detects uranium
and radium - your sex parts detect Sexium and Lustium. As you move closer to a
deposit of Sexium, the signal gets stronger. When you move further away, the
signal gets weaker.
As an active sex addict, you sought titillation - click, click, click, click,
click. By doing this, you became exquisitely perceptive of the sensations caused
by the nearness of Sexium or Lustium. You already have this tool. In recovery,
you can use that tool to help keep you healthy, safe, and living through your
values. Your genitally generated sex feelings provide cues when you may be in
danger. Listen to those sensations - click, click, click, click, click. In the
past you let those sensations make your decisions.
Now you can let those
sensations inform you and cue you into making different decisions. As you begin
to have sexual sensations, assess your situation. Are you in a place you have
defined as a safe zone for you to express yourself sexually? If so, you can
choose to express yourself sexually. If you are not in a safe zone, that cue
provides an opportunity to make healthy choices. Move away. So listen to your
Geiger Counter. Wisely heard, it can help keep you safe and sober.
